Website

This section covers the mcnewstuff.com website itself.

Information you give us

When you use our contact or custom order forms, you send us your name, email address, any phone number you include, and the details of your message or order. We use this only to reply to you, quote and complete your order, and keep records of orders.

Form submissions are processed and stored by our hosting provider, Netlify, on our behalf.

Information collected automatically

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies on this site. Like most websites, our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and reliability.

Some pages load content from other services, which may receive your IP address and set their own cookies under their own policies:

  • Google Fonts (typefaces)
  • cdnjs / Cloudflare (icons)
  • Microsoft OneDrive (the embedded design book on the Crafts page)
  • Steam (links to our game pages)

How we share information

We don’t sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with services we need to run the business (like hosting, email, payment or shipping providers), or when required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep messages and order records only as long as needed to complete your order, answer questions, and meet tax and accounting requirements.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information you’ve sent us by emailing inquiries@mcnewstuff.com.

Children

This website is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes

If we update this policy, we’ll change the effective date above.

King of Puzzles

This policy explains what information King of Puzzles (the “Game”) collects and how it’s used. It applies to the Game on iOS, Android, Windows and Linux.

The short version

  • No ads, no ad tracking, and no analytics.
  • We collect what the Game needs to run: your account, scores, saves, friends and challenges.
  • Your account name and scores are public on the leaderboards.
  • We don’t sell your information.
  • You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.

Information we collect

Platform sign-in

The Game signs you in with your device’s gaming service: Steam on Windows and Linux, Google Play Games on Android, or Apple Game Center on iOS. From that service we receive your player ID and your display name. We use them to recognize your account.

Your King of Puzzles account

  • Account name. You choose it, and it’s shown to other players on leaderboards, friend lists and challenges.
  • Password. Our backend provider handles your password, and we can’t see it.
  • Email address (optional). If you add one, it’s used only to help you reset a forgotten password. We don’t send you marketing email.

Gameplay

  • Your scores, and the codes of the boards you played
  • Your puzzle history, saved progress, daily streaks and weekly season results
  • Friends, friend requests and challenges you send or receive

Friends on Steam

On Steam, the Game checks which of your Steam friends also play King of Puzzles, so they can appear in your friends list and on friends-only leaderboards.

Technical information

When the Game connects to our servers, your IP address and basic connection details are processed so the connection works. On iOS, your sign-in session is saved in your iCloud Keychain, so you stay signed in on your other Apple devices.

What we don’t collect

The Game doesn’t show ads or use advertising IDs. It doesn’t run analytics or tracking SDKs, and it doesn’t access your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.

What other players can see

Your account name and scores appear on public leaderboards. Weekly champions and the current “King of Kingdoms” are shown on the Game’s main menu. Friends can see the challenges you send them.

Service providers

We use these services to run the Game. Each handles data under its own privacy policy:

  • Talo is our game backend. It stores accounts, scores, saves, friends and challenges.
  • Valve / Steam handles sign-in on Windows and Linux.
  • Google Play Games handles sign-in on Android.
  • Apple Game Center and iCloud Keychain handle sign-in on iOS.

How we use information

  • To run the Game: sign-in, leaderboards, daily puzzles, seasons, friends and challenges
  • To keep the leaderboards fair, for example one account per platform profile
  • To help you recover your account and to answer support requests

We don’t sell or rent your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.

Keeping and deleting your data

We keep your account and game data while your account exists. To delete your account, email inquiries@mcnewstuff.com with the subject “King of Puzzles account deletion” and include your account name. We’ll delete your account, scores, saves, friends and challenges within 30 days and confirm by email. Removing the Game from your device deletes the data stored only on that device.

Children

The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information. Email us and we’ll help.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the effective date above.

An Itch to Scratch

This policy covers An Itch to Scratch (the “Game”) on iOS, Android, Windows and Linux.

The short version

The Game doesn’t collect any personal information. It has no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking, and it doesn’t send anything about you to us or anyone else.

What’s stored on your device

The Game saves a few files on your device so you can pick up where you left off:

  • Your current run, so Continue can resume it
  • Your records and progress: wins, unlocks, Lucky Stubs and Lucky Vault upgrades
  • Your settings, like music and sound on or off

These files stay on your device. We can’t see them. Deleting the Game deletes them. Your device’s own backup (such as iCloud or Google backup) may include them under that service’s settings.

App stores

The App Store and Google Play handle downloads and may collect information under their own privacy policies (Apple, Google). We may receive anonymous, aggregated reports from them, such as download counts and crash statistics.

Children

The Game doesn’t collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If the Game ever starts collecting information, we’ll update this policy before that version is released and change the effective date above.

Pirates vs Poseidon

This policy covers Pirates vs Poseidon (the “Game”) on Windows and Linux.

The short version

  • The Game runs through Steam, and Valve handles your Steam account.
  • Other players in your match can see your Steam name and hear your voice if your microphone is on.
  • Voice chat isn’t recorded or stored.
  • No ads, no analytics, and we don’t sell your information.

Information the Game uses

Your Steam account

The Game uses your Steam ID and Steam name to create and join lobbies, show who’s in a match, and connect players. Steam also stores your achievements, stats and cloud saves under your Steam account.

Voice chat

The Microphone setting can be off, push to talk, or on whenever you speak. When it’s on, your voice is captured through Steam and sent live to the other players in your lobby or match. It isn’t recorded, saved, or sent to us.

Text chat

Messages you send in crew chat go to the players in your lobby. Messages in the global room go to other players browsing the menus, through a Steam lobby. Incoming messages pass through Steam’s chat filter. You can block a player in Settings, and you’ll stop seeing their messages. We don’t store chat.

Connections

To play online, the Game connects your computer to other players through Steam. If you join a game by IP address or through a dedicated server, the host or server sees your IP address, as with any online game.

On your computer

Your settings and career stats are saved in files on your computer. Steam Cloud may sync them across your computers, depending on your Steam settings.

What we don’t collect

No ads, advertising IDs, analytics or tracking. We don’t ask for your email or real name.

Service providers

Valve / Steam provides sign-in, matchmaking, networking, voice encoding, chat filtering, achievements, stats and cloud saves, under its own privacy policy.

Your choices

  • Turn the microphone off, or use push to talk, in Settings.
  • Turn off the global chat room in Settings, and block players there.
  • Manage Steam Cloud, your profile’s privacy, and your Steam account data in Steam.

We don’t hold an account for you outside Steam. If you have a question or a request about your data, email us.

Children

The Game is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the effective date above.
